There’s nothing like a fall day in Manhattan; when the weather is just right, there’s an electric energy from the students, families and visitors alike.

Here are a few ways to explore the area.

Go to a K-State game

Visit the K-State Athletics website and pick up tickets to a K-State fall game – volleyball, soccer or football. The Wildcats host home games throughout the season at Bill Snyder Family Stadium on certain Saturdays for football; Buser Family Park on different evenings during the week for soccer; and Morgan Family Arena for volleyball home games. Throw on your purple and root on some student athletes.

Take a stroll

See the fall foliage on the diverse offering of trees on the K-State campus. For those who want a quieter, more scenic setting or a more intense walk, drive out to the Konza Prairie Biological Station and hike the Konza Prairie’s public trail. Remember: no dogs allowed on the trail at Konza.

Sit on a patio

Enjoy a meal or a cocktail on one of the many patios and outdoor seating areas attached to bars and restaurants around town to breathe in the fall weather. Restaurants, coffeeshops and bars with patios and outdoor seating include:

Support local farmers

On Saturday mornings, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., find a bustling farmer’s market set up in the Manhattan Town Center Dillard’s parking lot. The Downtown Farmer’s Market offers rows of vendors selling goods, as well as food and coffee trucks to fuel a shopping spree.

Haven’t gotten your fill? Head to A&H Farm or to Britt’s Farm, both located within city limits. See and feed the animals, shop for local goods, and explore attractions like sunflower fields or pumpkin patches.
